It's not hard to like Chinese food. Seriously, if you don't like Chinese food, I don't trust you. But, it's impossible to dislike Two Sticks. Really, impossible. Just like it's impossible not to love the fact that you can pay with Liven at Two Sticks and get 25% of your bill back in Liven cash at Barangaroo or the Quay.

Geography lesson: Who can tell me where Yunnan is?

Honestly, if you didn't guess China at this point, we're worried about you.

Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles

Anyway... Yunnan is a province in China. And it is the home of the Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles dish.
So, how is it served? Well, we'll ~cross that bridge~ when we get there.

Just kidding.
Think a big bowl of hot, delicious broth with soup ingredients such as raw veggies and lightly cooked meats. When the ingredients are added to the broth, they cook pretty quickly.

Yunnan Signature Rice Noodle Soup

The menu has a pretty big variation of soups, including the classic "Yunnan Signature Rice Noodle Soup." This has slice beef, sliced chicken, bean curd sheets, chives, shallots, bean sprouts, quail egg, coriander and, of course, rice noodle. This is the Yunnan equivalent to a warm bowl of hot chicken noodle soup. In other words, it is a warm hug in a bowl.

Deep Fried Crunchy Potato Gems

Raise your hand if you like a little spice in your life?
🙋🙋🙋🙋
Bread crumbs (harmless) and crushed chili powder (not so harmless).

Just a little spice to start your meal off right. You have to admit, it looks delicious, doesn't it? And it tastes even better...

Okay tough guy, you handled that spice like a champ. We'll give you that. Let's kick it up a notch...

Hot and Numbing Beef Rice Noodle Soup

You heard me. Hot. And. Numbing.

Sliced beef, bean curd sheets, chives, bean Sprouts, shallots, coriander and egg noodle.

You might want a glass of water with this one...

This dish is not for the weak-taste-budded. Sorry. You're not missing much. Just a delicious beef soup that is so tasty that you'd want to dedicate a statue to it. Or a small museum. Too bad you can't handle the heat....

Grilled Prawn Skewers

Last but not least, I present to you the hottest item on the menu. I mean, it's on fire. Literally.
So maybe these aren't spicy but they're definitely turning up the temperature.

These babies are torched up for maximum flavour, effect, and Instagram-ability.

It's gettin' hot in here...
Don't worry though, even if you don't like spice, there's still plenty of non-spicy options for you and your delicate taste buds to enjoy.

Moving on....

Get a load of this venue!

Pretty sweet, huh? Transport yourself to Yunnan. I couldn't think of a better place to warm up than at Two Sticks during a cold winter like this.
